Title: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

Author: E. L. Konigsburg

Rating: 4

Genre: Realistic Fiction

Review: If you ever felt like running away, this is definitely the adventure book for you. After you read this, you may have second thoughts because running away is harder than you might think. Jamie and Claudia run away to a museum and then find themselves having trouble keeping track of their money, hiding from the guards, and having to take baths in a fountain. Also, while doing all of those things, they are trying to solve the mystery of a statue called Angel, possibly by Michelangelo. I recommend this book to people who like adventure and mystery with a dash of mischief.

Title: From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

Author: E. L. Konigsburg

Rating: 5

Genre: Realistic Fiction

Review: Once you open this book, you will have stepped into a book of adventure and teamwork. Claudia and Jamie Kincaid ran away to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City because Claudia wasn't appreciated by her parents. They had to work together to get food, hide from the guards, and solve the mystery of the Angel. The author does a good job of keeping us interested in the characters. For example, Jamie would say something funny and rude at the same time. This book was exciting and adventurous while revealing a surprising secret. I would recommend this book to people that like to solve mysteries and never have a dull moment.

Genre: Realistic Fiction

Review: Grab your spy kit and get ready to jump into the mystery and suspense of this book. Claudia and Jamie ran away from home because of unfair rules. They struggle to crack the case of the angel at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Was Angel sculpted by Michelangelo? They spend time hiding from guards, taking baths in a fountain, and sleeping in an antique bed. The author wrote from the point of view of Mrs. Frankweiler and her files. It helped us know how the children felt. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes mysterious adventures.

Review: In Erin Hunter's book she has such a good explanation on how feelings are entered between characters. As something happens she has something in the text that gives so much emotion to her writing. The story tells how Fireheart and Graystipe are in a force to help the windclan warriors be founded. As things happen to characters she expresses all emotion in a certain way it may make you want to cry...and other emotions. It has a very interesting story...highly recommended!

Author: Matthew Morgan and Samantha Barnes

Rating: 5

Genre: Non-Fiction

Review: You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be entertained, but mostly you'll just be totally grossed out. Right as you pick up this book and start reading. Did you know that cat litter helps get rid of sneaker stinch, you share 18% the same DNA with weeds. Do you know of the city Ding Dong, Texas or how to hypnotise a chicken, I bet not! Did you know Romans had to share a sponge on a stick instead of toilet paper, EWWWW! That is not all, this book includes jokes like "What do you get when you cross a snowman and a vampire (frostbite) Ha Ha! It even has something to keep your brain in shape, brain teasers. You'll never get bored. The Illustrator: Niki Catlow has hilarious pictures usually including a boy or a girl doing something crazy. When I started reading this book I was lost in it because os the authour's use of words and the facts that they found. I love this book because all the facts were true but they mademe laugh. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a laugh every once in a while but also enjoys learning facts.

Title: El Sol Colorado

Author: Jenny Lind Porter

Rating: 2

Genre: Historical Fiction

Review: this is an historical fiction about baron von meusebach. He was a wealthy educated lawyer from Berlin. He immigrated to Texas and founded the city of Fredericksburg. This book addresses his treaty with Comanches. In return for mercy over the German settlement the Comanches would be left alone to their affairs in their territory. Buffalo hump was the warchief of the northern Comanche hordes. Meusebach had half a dozen comrades: surgeon solider architect doctor and sheep rancher Agnes was the Austrian countess wife of the baron My opinion is that this book be edited for sexual themes mature content blood and gore and lepers and their song.

Title: Eragon

Author: Christopher Paolino

Rating: 5

Genre: Fantasy

Review: Main Characters: Eragon Brom Arya Saphira Plot Summary: Eragon finds a dragon egg in a range of mountains known as the spine and strange events happen. His relative goes out with a trader; two mysterious creatures known as ra’zac come asking locals where the egg is. Eragon flees to two separate cities across the continent: one is in the desert another is in the woodlands. Mainly he stays at inns and then eragon starts getting visions in his sleep. This is called scrying. It’s like drilling into another person’s mind and taking what information you want. There’s a rebel faction that fights the tyrant king and there’s a big battle where brutish creatures called urgals throw themselves at the rebels as cannon fodder which is piling the ground with the corpses of you and your friends until the enemy is tired out like a panting dog in need of water. Would you recommend this book to readers? Yes Why or why not? Because it is excellent…. Lord of the rings doesn’t stand a chance against eraqon because this book can capture critics all around the US. When I first started reading the prologue I became attached to the book.

Title: Magicians Boy

Author: Susan Cooper

Rating: 1

Genre: Fantasy

Review: If you can't fall asleep at night read this book because it will knock you out cold! It is super boring, trust me. The reason why I think this book was a bore was because it wasa mainly about a boy in a storybook characters like Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and his beanstalk, and the Big Bad Wolf. How lame is that? I mean come on this is a blue bonnet book i thought blue bonnets were supposed to be good! This book is unorganized from start to finish with ideas jumping all over the place! This book did not have any good word choice instead it had words like wow, cool, walk, run, fast, and nice. Seriously why did they even publish this book? The author needs to get a new style of writing or something.I do not reccomend this book to anyone over 2nd grade because it is way to easy and cheesy for 3rd, 4th, or 5th grader. This book is garbage! Caution strong boredom and drowsyness will come when reading. Well thats only my opinion so if you think it will be good knock yourself out.

Title: Eldest

Author: Christopher Paolino

Rating: 4

Genre: Fantasy

Review: Main Characters: Eragon, Saphira Orik, Orosmis and Arya and Nasuada, Orin and Roran. Plot Summary: Eragon is the last dragon rider. The dragon riders are a nearly extinct order where he is the only hope of reviving it. Eragon goes to the elven homeland for further training in magic and swordsmanship. He needs to do this so he can be prepared to face the tyrant. This is where he learns more of the dragon riders’ ways. This is the sequel to a series. Would you recommend this book? Yes Why or why not? Read the first book or watch the movie, just understand that this book makes toliken’s Frodo look like a ant compared to paolino’s eragon. If you’ve seen lord of the rings on TV or read the series, you’ll know what I mean. Also rent eragon on XBOX at nearest BLOCKBUSTER or GAMESTOP.this book kind of borrows the training part from star wars V

Title: Light in the Attic

Author: Shel Silverstein

Rating: 4

Genre: Poetry

Review: A Light in the Attic has the funniest poems. This funfilled poem book has 136 poems of laughter. Some of the poems don't make any sense but that is what makes it so funny. Like the poem "Hurk". It says thing like "I'd rather play hurk than go to work". Hurk isn't even a real word. Also a poem like "Homework Machine" is funny because person thinks she made the most perfect homework machine. Turns out to be really bad. Her homework comes out and says "9+4=3. This author is one of the best poem writers I have heard of. His poems are kindof short but some are about two pages long. I recommend this book to kids of all ages that like funny and silly books to read this book!!

Review: You will never want to put this book down! This book tells great myths that the Greeks belived. My favorite one is Fate and Three Heroes. I like this myth alot because it has alot of great detail and description. It tells how Bellerophon and a monster Chimanera battle and something happens unexpected. The author uses great description and word choice but sometimes I can not prenounce the word or I dont know what it means. The illistrator's pictures are wounderfull and have great detail and colors. I recomend this book to people who want to learn about legends and greek mythology. I donot recomend this book to ages 9 and under because there are hard words and sometimes it is confusing!
