| The goal
of the Bunker Hill Elementary Library is to develop life long readers
and information seekers. Our library is equipped with approximately
18,000 books, 20 different magazines, numerous reference resources, and
12 computers with internet connections for utilizing online resources in
order to help students become critical thinkers and users of
information.
The library is open from 7:30
a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for book check-out and/or research. Classes are
scheduled to visit the library weekly for grade level specific
instruction and book check-out. In addition, students may come to check
out books at any other available time before, during or after the school
day.
Students in the primary grades
(Pre-K, K, 1st, 2nd) may check out 1 - 2 books a week. Students in the
intermediate grades (3rd, 4th, 5th) may check out 2 - 4 books a week.
Exceptions are easily arranged for students needing additional materials
for research projects. The standard check-out period is one week.
However, we do not charge fines and books may be renewed as many times
as needed.
Because we believe in the
priceless value of reading aloud to your child, library cards are
available for parents of Bunker Hill students. Parents may check-out
books and use library computers and online resources during library
hours. Please see the librarian, Tammy Holley for help in obtaining a
library card.
