The
Frostwood Library is open to all Frostwood staff, students, and their families. The library and its wide variety of resources is an essential part of the student's school day in reaching his/her goal of becoming a life-long learner. Students come to the library to hear book-talks and stories, learn how to use the library, conduct research for class projects, and check out books.
Our library's resources include
-
an online catalog which is Union based. Students look up materials using the library's Meriwether program and can access not only our collection but all of the collections in Spring Branch ISD.
-
a print and AV collection totaling approximately 21,000
volumes.
-
many CD-ROM resources that students can use for research.
-
an extensive professional/parent collection. Parents and other affiliated Frostwood people are encouraged to check out materials using their own card (assigned by the librarian).
-
a computer lab and in-house broadcasting system which are located in the Library building. Students produce and broadcast the morning announcements live every morning.
-
access to over 3,000 newspapers and periodicals online through the Gale Group's Infotrac. The Spring Branch Independent School District and
Region IV have also purchased other online resources that are available to students both at school and on their home computers. These resources can be accessed on the district's
Library Resources page. See Mrs. Bond for a list of passwords if
you live in the Spring Branch Independent School District.
Frostwood's full-time librarian,
Jane Bond, and the
Frostwood PTA host several author visits as well as a fall book fair and a spring book swap. Volunteers are always welcome to help with a variety of duties.
The Library is open everyday from 7:30 -3:30. Extended hours are available upon request of the librarian.
