| Reading Is Fundamental is a national non-profit
organization which promotes literacy in the home by offering grant money
and help in giving all children access to books for home libraries.
Spring Branch Elementary has participated in this program for more than
12 years. |
| Spring Branch Elementary holds 3 RIF book distributions
each year. Each distribution has a different theme, decorations, and
reading activity. Students get to come to the library, hear a good
story, and choose a free book to keep as a gift. |

Our school RIF program has been very fortunate to have the
help and financial support of the Houston Alumnae Panhellenic
Association (HAPA). This wonderful service organization has
adopted our school to provide volunteer readers for the book
distributions, and also gives money to meet our required local
matching funds for the program. HAPA helps put about 2100 books
in the homes of our students each year! Thank you HAPA!
