Professional Development Hours |

| All SBISD Librarians need 3 types of
professional development. Below are the definitions and examples of the
professional development needed: |

40 hours per year |
12 hours per year |
Flex days (2 = 12 hours) |
| These hours are the required Staff Development Days on the
school calendar! |
These hours must be earned outside
your contract time and be related to district initiatives. |
These hours must be earned outside
your contract time and be related to district initiatives (needs principal prior
approval). |
| Although all other staff development offered,
such as monthly Librarians' staff development meetings, will count, the
official staff development days will give the needed 40 hours. |
Example #1:
Librarian classes offered at the Media Center starting at 3:30 PM on Tuesday
and Thursday. |

For
Librarians certified after 1999, all of the above will count toward your 200
hours per 5 years.
