Planned and coordinated the addition of cataloged web sites
into Library Automation Database--one of the first school districts in the
nation to offer such a service
Mentor to 24 Librarians as part of the TLA TALL Texans
Librarian Leadership week long retreat (2001 & 2002).
Advised in the development of ChildrensEbooks, a multimedia
web delivered book concept. And was one of the first districts in the nation to
provide these resources for students.

Participated on a three member panel discussion about innovative uses

Key figure in the evaluating, decision making, presenting, persuading,
implementing, training, and troubleshooting involved with a district-wide, networked,
Library automation system for 50 sites.
Initiated and promoted a comprehensive flexible access and integrated
instruction philosophy that improved Library instruction in the district.
Evaluated, promoted, and set up one of the first k-12 school
video editing systems for teacher use.
Created an Instructional Technology model and department that is
effectively preparing teachers to provide technology learning opportunities for all
students
Designed technology staff development model to bring the most computer
phobic instructor up to competence and comfortableness in integrating technology into a
classroom, with the side benefit of creating a student centered classroom.
Supported district Librarians as they transition from having a central
processing center to having to do all the ordering, receiving, cataloging, processing,
etc. themselves (this was not a high point). Arranged the training to meet their needs.
Lead SBISD to be the first K-12 district in the nation to add
eBooks and ChildrensEbooks to a plethora of online resources for students and staff.
Helped designers at Sagebrush Corporation improve a search
tool that ultimately became Pinpoint.

Taken children, youth, adults, & senior citizens backpacking in
national wilderness areas (climbed to the same 13,500 peak at age 50 that I
climbed at age 25)
Surviving Stage IV Colon Cancer spread to the Liver, surgery
and 30 day hospital stay (with no food for 14 days), 6 months of intense
chemotherapy (6 hours every 2 weeks plus 3 day pump) plus 6 more months of oral
chemotherapy. Cancer discovered from a colonoscopy 9/2/05 as a result of
low blood levels (8/17/05), surgery 9/13/05, chemo started 11/4/05, last chemo
9/23/06, last clean test 4/07
Successful spouse of 36 years and parent of four beautiful
daughters (two successfully married, two growing grandsons), the oldest served a Spanish speaking mission,
the third is serving a mission at ...
