On-Line Scavenger Hunt

  Objective:  The student will be able to navigate through Meriwether to answer generated questions.

    Materials:

• Computer
• Questions  

  Procedure/Instruction:

• Pass out questions to students that will require knowledge of  finding information using keyword, title, author, and subject searches.
• Have students record their findings on paper.

Closure/Evaluation:    Students get in groups of  4 and compare answers with each other. In large group, go over a few of the questions and conclude which searches to use to get the best information. 

Comments:  Examples of questions:

Find the first fiction book whose author’s last name begins with “S”. What is the author’s name?  What is the title of the book? How many pages are in the book?

Find a nonfiction book about the Civil War. What is the call number? What is the author’s name? What is the title? Is the book available in our library?
