Withdrawing Materials and
Using Hold
Codes in JWalk
[ Back ] [ Up ] [ Next ]
| This menu is used for
withdrawing weeded materials from your collection and for assigning hold
codes (checks it out forever) to materials that are kept in a grade
level or department area, or materials marked for library use
only. |
| 1. Go to LM322 and click on
"Reason code", when you do this an arrow will appear, click on
this to choose the correct hold code to assign, ex. Lost, Withdrawn,
Drama Deptl., Grade three, and English dept., double click on the
correct code to select it. Next you will place your cursor in the second
date area (the first date area is the that day's date - don't change
this), if you want the materials to be assigned to this code
indefinitely then type in six 9's (999999), or you can type in a
specific date like 73104 (July 31, 2004). Press enter or click on
"Assign" to go to the next screen. |
| 2. On the next screen you will
see a series of lines, scan the barcodes onto these lines. Watch the
screen carefully so that you don't exceed the number of lines on the
page - this screen will not allow you to keep scanning indefinitely like
the check-in screen does. When you are finished scanning press enter or
"OK". You will get a pop-up at the bottom of the screen, you
need to click on the "Yes" button to "Accept" and on
"Yes" to "Print". |
| 3. If you are withdrawing
materials you will use "XX" for the hold code and you will
always type in six 9's for the ending date. You also need to print a
list of the materials withdrawn EVERY time to be sure that the material
is correctly withdrawn and to have a list for consideration if
necessary. |
| 4. To assign materials to a
department or grade level you would follow the same procedure except
that you may want to use a different date for the end date and you would
choose the appropriate hold code using the list. |
| NOTE***If the hold code
you need isn't there please contact me and I will create one for you. |
