Using Interlibrary Loan

Back ] Up ] Next ]

1. Go to LM420 or select Interlibrary loan from your circulation screen (LM430).
2. Click on the arrow next the Building box and select the correct building and library, or type in the school number in both boxes of the library that wants to borrow a book.
3. You will need to type in a return date next, ex: 121204 (Dec. 12, 2004), or you can leave it with the zero's in the box and the material will be checked out to the other library indefinitely.
4. Next you will click on the "Add" button and you will go to a screen similar to the withdraw screen, you can scan or type in the barcodes of the materials being loaned. The material is now checked out to the other library and all you need to do is send it to the librarian via school mail.
5. When you receive an interlibrary loan from another school it is VERY IMPORTANT for you to CHECK OUT the material to the student or teacher borrowing it. If you don't do this you won't have any way of tracking the material or knowing where it is.
6. To get a list of materials that you have loaned or borrowed from other libraries you will need to go to LM724, here you can print out a list of loaned items or borrowed items.
