Creating Overdue lists for
Secondary Schools
There are two ways for
secondary schools (Middle and High Schools) to print their overdue lists. The
most common option is Language Arts teacher, but since there are some students
who don't have a Language Arts teacher you can also print overdues by Homeroom
teacher, this is actually the student's 1st period teacher since some high
schools don't have homeroom classes. Below are the instructions for both
options. It really depends on how you want to distribute the overdue notes to
the students, in other words what works best for you and your school.
| Using the Report
Code/Language Arts Teacher Option |
| 1. Go to LM750 from the main
menu or click on the overdues icon on your circulation page. You will
type in "ST" for student overdues in the patron type box, if
you want to include staff you can type two asterisks for All. |
| 2. In the date range you need
to type in a beginning date for the report to cover, this can go back as
far as you want it to, in the ending box you will either type in the
current date. Remember to click on the "print replacement
cost" box so that the price of the book is printed on the report or
student slip. |
| 3. Under "report
type" you click on the box next to "homeroom" this will
open up two new boxes. To do the whole school type "ALL" in
the first box and leave the second box blank. If you wanted to do an
individual teacher you can click on the binoculars and you will get a
list of the Language Arts teachers and their class sections. You can
either select a single class section by double clicking on it, or you
can type in the Language Arts code which is on the far right side of the
pop-up screen. |
| 4. Under form type you will
need to choose, you can either print a report which is a listing of the
students and overdues by teacher, or patron slips which are printed
approximately 3 per page and can be cut up to send to home with the
students. Finally you click on the "Print" icon and you are
done! |
| Using the Homeroom/1st
Period Teacher Option |
| 1. The option is a little
trickier because you need to use a special format for the teacher's name
if you want to do a single teacher, use the following format; type in
the 1st 5 letters of the teacher's last name and the 1st letter of the
teacher's first name. If you are not sure of the lettering look up one
of the teacher's students in check out and the homeroom/1st period
teacher's name is listed in the correct format under the student's
name. |
| 2. After deciding what groups
you want overdue for you will follow the instructions above for
selecting "report type" and click on the "Print"
icon to print. |
