Adding Magazines using JWALK
| 1. Go to LM320 and type or scan in the barcode. Click on the "add" button and click on the "add a single barcode" choice on the pop-up screen. |
| 2. The next screen is the same screen you get when you add a holding or equipment to the database and the instructions are similar, the first thing you will do is click on the binoculars next to the control # box, this will give you the pop-up with "bibliographic titles", "periodical titles", and "other items titles" options, you will type in the name of the magazine and click on the "periodical titles" choice. |
| 3. When the list comes up you will double click on the correct magazine title and the control # and title will appear on the add screen. You will click on the box next to "temporary item" so that it is checked, and then add the item cost if you so desire. |
| 4. You will need to either type MG for the system and library item groups, or select it from the list. You can get the list by clicking on the binoculars next to the system and library items boxes. |
| 5. The last thing you will need to do is add the issue date in the box labeled "issue" so that when the magazine is checked out the issue will appear on the check out screen as an identifier. Press enter or click on "ok" to save the record. |
