Using MarcMagician, the
district-mandated cataloging software, you will learn: |
| The essential MARC
record tags necessary for cataloging books, book/sounds,
videos, electronic resources, kits, and other forms of AV materials as
needed. |
| The necessary MARC
record tags for creating records for Spanish language materials (that can
also be adapted for other languages.) |
| How to fill in MARC
tags from information found in the book or on the material. (original
cataloging) |
| How to download
records from Library of Congress and Marc Access. |

How to adapt downloaded
records to match the material and SBISD system requirements. |
| How to
electronically send completed records to the department for loading into
the system. |
