F. No fines – not worth the effort and negative
press. Still charge for lost and damaged materials. May substitute other

out in their minds?
Goals for the year:
Focus
for 2004-2005 school year:
1.
Librarians will become better teachers and better Librarians
through the district initiative of designing and delivering quality
lessons. Librarians will be taught to be better teachers through
professional development on campus and supported by professional
development at Librarian meetings. Library Information Services staff
will deliver examples of better lesson design and delivery using the
essentials of a good Librarian as content.
2.
Librarians will become better teachers and better Librarians
through follow-up visits and “walk-throughs” by Library
Information Services staff. Each Librarian can expect to be visited by a
Library Information Services staff member at least 3 times each
semester. Library Information Services staff will be looking to see if
the Librarians are doing the essentials of a good teacher and Librarian.
Library Information Services staff will send an e-mail after each
visit to identify the essentials saw and make suggestions for more
essential implementation.
3.
Librarians are to focus on collaborating with teachers to integrate,
to a greater degree, TEKS objectives in Science and Social
Studies areas. Opportunities for discussion and support from the
Administrators in these two areas will be made at Librarian professional
development meetings.
4.
Librarians will need to develop new and better lessons using more
technology, using collaborative planning with teachers, using design and
delivery lesson model, using TEKS, and using support from Library Information
Services professional development meetings including dividing up into
grade level teams to share lessons (etc... learn the strength of our
fellow Librarians).
